When it comes to capturing a wedding day, consistency is key. No couple wants a gallery that feels like a patchwork of different styles or tones—what you’re looking for is a seamless story, where every frame flows effortlessly into the next. And trust me, that’s where the right gear and approach make all the difference.

My go-to setup? A pair of Sony bodies armed with prime lenses—specifically, the 35mm and 50mm. Why? Because these two focal lengths are the perfect double act. The 35mm lens is ideal for wide, storytelling shots—capturing the full scene, the setting, and all the little details that give a wedding its character. Meanwhile, the 50mm lens steps in when it’s time to focus on those more intimate, emotional moments—the tear in a dad’s eye during the first look or the way a couple locks eyes during their vows.

This combination allows me to maintain a consistent look and feel throughout the entire day. Whether I’m capturing the buzz of morning prep, the big emotions of the ceremony, or the chaos of the dance floor, the aesthetic remains cohesive. No harsh jumps in perspective or style—just a natural flow that feels authentic and timeless.

Consistency also comes from how I shoot. I lean into natural light wherever possible, letting it shape and define each shot. This approach keeps the images looking real, with a warmth and depth that artificial lighting just can’t replicate. But if the lighting’s less than ideal—because, let’s be honest, British weather loves to keep us guessing—my gear’s low-light capabilities mean I can still deliver crisp, beautiful images without breaking out the flash.

The result? A wedding gallery that feels like a true reflection of your day—unfiltered, authentic, and full of life. From the first nervous smiles to the last dance floor singalong, every shot feels like part of the same story. And that’s what great wedding photography is all about: capturing the moments that matter, in a way that feels natural, honest, and undeniably you.
